Abstract

The objectives of this research were to study: 1) the characteristics of basic personal and socio-economic; 2) adoption of good agricultural practices (GAP) banana production technology; 3) factors affecting adoption of good agricultural practices (GAP) banana production technology; and 4) problems and suggestions about banana production. The sample group in this study consisted of 108 banana (GAP) farmers in Upper Central Region. The interview was used for data collection and analyzed by using descriptive statistics and regression analysis. Result of the study revealed that the respondents had a high level of the adoption of good agricultural practices (GAP) banana production technology. Factors having a positive effect on the adoption included number of year in school, income from banana planting and experiences in banana planting. The problems of banana production was found that the farmers had the most news release source problems.
